I can’t remember how I ran across it but this is a very cool tool. uvLayer is downloadable AIR application to manipulate lots of video media on a desktop canvas. For those that arn’t aware of the cool new Adobe technology AIR, it is basically a cross-platform, Windows and Mac, downloadable desktop application framework. AIR allows applications written in either HTML with lots of Javascript and AJAX loveliness or Flash Flex. AIR applications are designed not only to be the desktop application to the connected web but to work when you are offline.

uvLyare is one cool AIR application. It’s a video/media search application which allows you to search for videos then drag them on to the canvas for later viewing

The greatest thing about uVLayer is the shear assault on the senses as it allows you to watch multiple videos at the same time while inundating you with yet more content, this truly is the UI for the ADD generation. You can of course rate, share and comment, interacting with your fellow uVer’s but it doesn’t have a community feel to it… yet..

This is one cool rich social media internet application and the way of the future for media UIs but it’s yet to be seen if this is gonna work as a business or just a cool technology tool. Possible buy-up from Adobe maybe?
