New Scientist write about a neckband that translates thought into speech by picking up nerve signals in the neck
It was demoed at a Texas Instruments conference. There’s still a bit of a delay between the thought and the speech, but it’s still pretty impressive.
Watch it here.

ReportAmazing. Finally, with silent phone calls, I may be able to go back to the watching films at the cinema and stop wanting to bludgeon people in the quiet zone of the train.
I guess the key problem will be working out which thoughts to communicate and which not to communicate. Remember Flash Gordon accidentally telling Princess Aurora, “This girl’s really turning me on” by mistake when he was wearing the telepathic communicator? (Who’d have thought that Flash Gordon would have been predicting the future - a bit.)

ReportHAHA! Yes, greater mind control will have to be exercised to avoid this becoming the latest truth serum.
