Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Finally. It’s been 19 years since we last saw Indy - 19 years trying to pick the truth out of the rumours. And with only a month to go I’m pretty excited. I am not the only one. The Indiana Jones series is a silver screen legend. Rarely do film-goers talk about action films with such enthusiasm because rarely does Hollywood produce action films with such quality characters. And rarely has a film’s development had such a slow burn. Suffice to say anticipation around the Cystal Skull is rife. Hype should be easy. But it ain’t what it used to be. read full post »

Wii like iPlayer… or do Wii?


It was announced yesterday that BBC’s iPlayer will soon be available on the Wii (having already been rolled out to iPhone and iTouch - all the iProducts sticking together). I read the anouncement and thought “Wow”, then thought I can watch TV on my, er, TV. So, I thought, “Hmm”, then I thought having Internet sites that deliver TV programs fed to your TV is the best place for them as they’re at the centre of your entertainment set-up at home, so I thought, “Wow”. Then I thought, “But not many Wii’s are actually set-up to connect wirelessy compared to say over 70% of Xbox 360s and 40% of PS3s, so I thought “Hmm”. Is this “Wow” or “Hmm”? Help me out…

I was fairly surprised today to see that Five (the tv station, not the power pop combo of “Slam Dunk da Funk” fame) has announced it is ‘abandoning its interactive TV service’ making the red button an anachronistic relic of the late 90s it always deserved to be.
