Tuesday, Feb 26th 2008 saw the opening of Svalbard’s giant cold store for the worlds seeds (source Guardian UK). It felt good to know someone was taking care of this kind of thing.

William Henry Bonser Lamin is a First World War English soldier and his blog is proving to be a surprise hit in 2008.
William made notes or sent letters almost everyday from the cold, damp trenches of a WWI front line … and his descendants have been posting them to a blog, exactly 90 years to the day.
