I heart useless technology.

Given the current climate of eco-hygiene and resisting and desisting unnecessary manufacture, I should probably be against useless tech, but it just amuses me that there is someone out there who “needs” this: iBeams via iPod touch trick . I don’t find pointers useless. In fact many a time have I stood presenting at the front of the board room seconds from losing the client’s attention and advertising £££ only to whip out my telescopic pointer to draw their eye to one segment of my over-convoluted powerpoint charts. The moment they see the pointer, I know I’ve bagged them and the campaign is sold. No, I don’t find pointers useless at all, quite the opposite. However marrying a pointer to an iPod? Let’s get real people.

My top 3 pieces of useless tech:

1 - Egg boilers - Don’t use a pan!

2 - Scissor doors - I can park my Lambo right next to that wall.

3 - The horse shoe picking thing on Swiss Army knives - uh… okay, I still don’t know what to use this for.

Useless tech … tell me about it. the world is full of the stuff. But what worries me is even the useful stuff eventually becomes useless.

The ’speed of tech’ seems to be getting faster and faster. How many people bought the original iPhone and now feel they should replace it with the 3g model?

Whoever is making this stuff should be held responsible for cleaning up the junk that’s no longer wanted. Take it back and recycle everything!
