Google Bar Will Become the New Address Bar?

The .com top-level domain was (and still is) meant to be for US businesses only but has become synonymous with being the standard web address. In fact, many people have no idea other top-level domains even exist so don’t even consider organisations may use .org, or UK companies may use .uk.com. (One exception in the UK is .co.uk which maintains its profile but no-one thinks it’s for UK businesses only). Plus, many people assume that “www.” must always be in front of the domain name too. Could this be putting the future of the address bar and even domain names into jeopardy…?

EA Starts Social Networking Division

When EA Games sets up a new division, it’s always worth taking note.

Yesterday, EA announced its new division called EA Blueprint, a division solely on creating games for social networking sites such as Facebook.  EA Blueprint’s games will be a mix of their existing IP and new titles.  The debut original title is reported as being Facebook Smarty Pants. read full post »

Nintendo Teaches You Common Sense

The increase in self-improvement games on the Nintendo DS shows no signs of slowing. Just on their own Nintendo has a large stable and the list is becoming increasingly unusual:

Brain Training - fine
More Brain Training - naturally
Sight Training - okay
Face Training - getting weird now…

But, just when you thought Face Training DS (a Japanese game which tells you how to move your face and uses a camera to judge your perfromance) could not be topped for weirdness, Nintendo have released Common Sense Training DS. Thing is if you have no common sense to start, the result is that it’s unlikely you’ll think it a good thing to buy the game to increase it.
